Richard Nixon's Last Meal (2008)
J & L Mall
The jowly president was the first ever to resign, leaving a legacy whose only positive feature may be the rapprochement with China he engineered. To help him relive the glory days of his 1972 Chinese trip, we're sending him to the closest thing we have to the overpopulated Asian land mass: Flushing's J & L Mall. This warren of small hawker stalls offers some of the most sumptuous regional Chinese fare in the city, including fried and baked breads from Tianjin, dumplings from Fujian, meaty soups from Guizhou, and perhaps best of all, the best cold Sichuan buffet and dan-dan noodles in town.
