best penis monument (2008)

"The salami," LA MELA waiter Diego Cordero calls the dining-room light: a wooden phallus sharpened at the head like a pencil on steroids, with bulbs for balls. He pulls the string, then serves a shield-sized platter of gnocchi to the families below the light, drawing laughs from the kids, smiles from the moms, and bemused frowns from the pops. No one at the eatery cops to knowing who made it—or why—except to say, "It has a cult following."
