Brooklyn's traveling road show of artisan pickles, beef jerky, and cold brew coffee gets better each year, even as the crowds approach circus levels. Smorgasburg moved a block away from its original Williamsburg lot this summer, but the spectacular view overlooking the Manhattan waterfront, and its proximity to the East River Ferry, remain unchanged. And the shift meant moving to a state park, so attendees can now throw down blankets and snack on anything from bulgogi to beet sliders. It's the mix of quirky vendors, though, that really make this weekly event fly, and this year saw the return of old favorites like barbecue master Mighty Quinn's as well as the debut of first timers like biscuit-maker Beehive Oven. That a number of the businesses here go on to establish brick-and-mortar locations is testament to the organizers' ability to pick winners.
