Bohemian Hall and Beer Garden
Upon entering Astoria's Bohemian Hall and Beer Garden, you are greeted by an array of regulars and bartenders eager to teach you Czech. And after 5 p.m. on weekdays, picnic tables are arranged in the open-air tree-lined courtyard out back, where seven different types of Czech beer, as well as 16 other kinds of suds, are served up. The garden, according to longtime bartender Robert Chermak, attracts "pretty much everyone," including "families with kids, punk rockers, big mommas, bikers, and skinheads." Open weekends starting at noon.
