Comments (0) Best Brooklyn Roast Corn - 2000
Blue Mountain Café
I'm considered dangerous by Caribbean friends because as we drive the roads of Barbados and Jamaica, I've been known to screech, "STOP!" at the sight of a roast-corn stand. I just love the fire-grilled, slightly charred taste of the corn that the vendors grill over tire-rim braziers. I'm too lazy to fire up the barby here, and it's not readily available. In fact, it isn't even advertised on the yellow-and-blue awning at this out-of-the-way spot, which lists other specialties like jerk chicken and stew steak. Blue Mountain Café, though, roasts its own, and has some of the best street food in the borough.
