It's a bit premature for Chinese New Year, but for me, peking duck is a celebratory dish that can be savored at any time. One of my favorite spots to sample it is under the vintage black-and-white photographs at Chin Chin Restaurant. From the for-once aptly named hot-and-sour soup through the duck skin and pancakes, the duck meat with julienne of red bell pepper and chile, and the dessert ice cream, it's a Midtown bargain in disguise.
