Dekalb Avenue is fast becoming the dining mecca of Fort Greene, with street umbrellas marking outdoor tables and even a club or two. One of the more unusual venues on the strip is Tillie's, a welcome roost for blocked writers and distressed designers. A wall rack with magazines ranging from The Herbalist to Mustang Supercars offers an excuse for procrastination, while a rotating menu of homemade soups and sandwiches feeds the body. There are enough coffee choices to make you think you're in Seattle, and herbal infusions for the caffeine-challenged. It's a great place to hang out while you wait for the muse to call.
