Best Record Store That's a Bit of a Trip New York 2000 - Mooncurser Records

You'll have to make the trek up to City Island, but they've got things you'll never find anywhere else: Mooncurser Records is packed wall to wall and floor to ceiling with vinyl megatonnage—100,000 LPs of every provenance and description, as well as 45s and 78s. Prices are not bargains (but not painful either), the genre classification system is bizarre, and most of the obvious "collectible" stuff has been picked over. Still, if you know what you're looking for, you'll find it—my last trip there scored a couple of awesome indie-label black-power singles from '68, a Rev. Julius Cheeks album, and The Fleetwood Mac Songbook as Performed by Dancers Image.
