The block is nothing to brag about, just blank facades that scream bureaucracy. Frankly, inside Saigon Garden isn't much better, until you notice the illuminated shadow box of Kwan Ty, the god of good business, on the wall over the service door. He holds true to his promise of good things to come. Try the canh ga chien bo, batter-fried chicken wings complete with nuoc cham for dipping, or the ginger-zapped ga xao gung that will fire you up. Don't forget an order of Saigon beer and a toast to Ho Chi Minh; after all, he was an apprentice chef under Escoffier.
