Central Park's 72nd Street Traverse
SummerStage is right around the bend, but CENTRAL PARK'S 72ND STREET TRAVERSE is a bewildering cornucopia. You never know who or what is going to show up to perform for spare change: Percussion ensembles, jazz bands, bucket drummers, folkies, hotshot guitarists, classical trios, break-dancers, bagpipers, kora pluckers, and a Mad Max violinist can be found at various times/places (though not playing together, sadly). Strolling along the beautiful pathway, you can attend several shows in a day. And who can beat the price (if any)? East-West span of park across 72nd Street, from Central Park West to Fifth Avenue.
