OPEN AIR
Neither open nor airy, one wonders what the owners were smoking when they named their club OPEN AIR. The East Village hangout is dark, small, and decidedly claustrophobic. The lighting is so nonexistent you can barely find your own feet, and the dancefloor is smaller than a New York studio apartment. The walls are painted a depressingly gloomy hue, giving the place the feel of a minimalist modern dungeon. You have to wonder: Is this a mean joke, or what?
