Did someone say Williamsburg? How passé. Brooklyn's got nothing on Queens when it comes to Olympic swimming and diving, free for the public. Certain hours are reserved for grown-ups to swim laps, but soon enough the pool is full of loud teenagers and whole families partying away the heat wave while the rest of the city schleps around in the swelter. How cool is Queens? The 2012 Olympics could use the pool at ASTORIA PARK (the biggest in the city, established in 1936) if New York is the chosen site. And you won't have to see any fauxhawks, rattails, or fashion-staches for at least a few hours.
