AVAILABLE TABLES AT SCRATCHER used to be rare as good parking spots. Sure, the place was smoky as a VFW Hall, but the friendly bartenders and relaxed vibe made it our favorite local. At 10:30 on a recent Thursday, seven of the 10 tables were free. The neighbors won't even let people smoke in front of the bar. Those bartenders are even friendlier when they've got all the time in the world to chat.
