TONIC
"You could sire a child" down there on any given Thursday evening, is how a friend of mine—an avid regular—characterizes the potential of TONIC. This avant-ish club houses a rarefied drinking hole in its basement: a dimly lit concrete chamber where you sit in huge wine caskets—Tonic has five former Kosher barrels, to be exact—illuminated by seedy lightbulbs, including some blue ones, for that teenage pet-me feel. There's table service chez your barrel, for maximum snogging convenience.
