LEE JENKINS

It's kind of a shitty gig, as far as plum sportswriting jobs go, to cover the Mutts for the Times. The paper's pro-Yankee bias, most doggedly voiced by veteran columnist Murray Chass, kicks the Mets deep into the section unless somebody gets fired or into a fight. But newcomer LEE JENKINS, who took Tyler Kepner's beat when Kepner graduated to the Yanks, has been finding genuine stories in the Mutts' clubhouse since the first pitch of spring training.
