Best news for nerds New York 2004 - WORLD HORROR CONVENTION
The first "world" convention of science fiction fans was held in New York in 1939, and in the decades since, the speculative fiction community has grown enormously. There are world cons for SF, fantasy, and horror, but none of them have been held in Manhattan since 1967. In April 2005, legendary fantasist Harlan Ellison, hometown hero Jack Ketchum, and Bubba Ho-Tep author Joe R. Lansdale will be the guests of the first-ever New York WORLD HORROR CONVENTION. Panel discussions, an art show, and a "dark" fiction contest are among the attractions. April 7 through 10, 2005.
