GENERATION RECORDS
Besides housing Lola, a slobbery but lovable cat, GENERATION RECORDS boasts a used bin that consistently yields Christian Death, Death in June, Jucifer, and the Jayhawks at cut-rate prices. I've yet to shop for new merchandise on the main floor, but the basement's extensive used-vinyl and CD sections are carefully subdivided into rock, goth, experimental, punk, metal, and industrial. A bonus: The freckly cashier with the red mohawk shatters bitchy-record-store-employee conceptions with his gentle can-do calm.
