FORT TILDEN
Riis Park, waaaaay down Flatbush, is lovely. But for extra privacy, drive west to FORT TILDEN: Pass the main entrance, park at Beach 193rd Street, and behold a deserted, mile-long strand of pristine sand. Come out of season—between June 15 and September 15 you'll need a season fishing pass, $50 at Floyd Bennett Field (and you have to show them your rod).
