Best Bistro—Village, Traditional New York 2005 - METROPOL

French bistros continue to appear in the Village in spite of the incessant pelting of pasta places. METROPOL offers a doctrinaire menu, but with superior ingredients. While their moules frites is a paragon of its type, the entrée I dream about is their lobster club (not currently on the menu)—bacon and lobster meat double-deckered on well-toasted bread.
