FLUSHING MEADOWS-CORONA PARK
Grubbers, jaffers, maidens, pie throwers, and sticky wickets . . . I may or may not be seeing such thingamajigs when I watch the various cricket matches at play in the fields of FLUSHING MEADOWS-CORONA PARK on a Sunday afternoon. Perhaps I'm startled by the crisp white uniforms, or worried instead about the futbol matches that also take place in the drained concrete fountain beds. Either way, I feel as if Twickenham is nearer than Pelham.
