Marysia's

When I dye my hair, I'm used to smearing on some variation of auburn goo, inevitably getting my hands filthy and my bathroom stained, only to have the color fade in a few weeks. So when a friend told me about Marysia's $40 cut-and-color it sounded like a fabulous break from my usual DIY routine. This Polish salon is buzzing with activity; these ladies know what they're doing and are friendly to boot. They'll mix colors to get it exactly right, have you in and out of there fairly quickly, and you won't have to return for a few months. You may not have any idea what they're gossiping about as you sit and wait for the dye to take effect, but you don't need to know. The rock-bottom prices and efficiency far surpass places with superior ambience. You'll walk out with a shimmering new shade of hair, money in your pocket, and no evidence of your dye job on your face and hands. They also offer facials, manicures, and waxing, and they take walk-ins; I recommend going when they open, at 8 a.m.

I have been going there for 4 years. I used to go uptown and spend $350 for the same thing. I love them!!
