The city's best jerk chicken joint for nearly a decade, Danny & Pepper broke into two places last year, across the street from each other, and soon thereafter we conducted an experiment to find out which deserves the coveted designation Best Jerk Chicken. We ordered up batches from both Danny Express and Peppa's Jerk Chicken and brought them to a rollicking Greenwich Village party. Peppa's tasted richer, with a faint whiff of Worcestershire, while Danny's had a milder flavor, but a slightly better jerk sauce. Peppa's won the survey, by a margin of 7 to 3.
