Best prodigious pies New York 2006 - Aron's
Uzbek-Israeli newcomer Aron's might not provide the best plov or kebabs in the vicinity of the diamond district, but the meat pies called samsa are the borough's best—well browned, strewn with sesame seeds, bulging with lamb and onions. Two make a meal. Just don't let the insides spill on your pants, or you'll never get the grease stain out. Also don't miss the garlic-gobbed carrot salad, the green and lovely alternative to plov called bachsh, or kufte kebabs—charmingly described as "ground beef kebab of the house."
