Abandoned Cold War?era fortress structures?now crumbling and reclaimed by sand, flora, and graffiti?are the jungle gyms for adventurous beachcombers, while picnickers have plenty of room to stretch out on the beach without ending up a target for rogue frisbees and the like. It?s as far as you can go, both physically and mentally, and still be in the city.
