Trek to Ironbound for churrascarias that beat the pants off the overpriced Manhattan versions. Our current fave is Boi na Brasa (?Bull on the Coals?), serving caramelized-surface sirloin, garlicked-chicken drumsticks, and turkey wrapped in bacon?all you can eat!

Real Brazilian steak houses are by far better than the ones in the US, even though most of them are owned by Brazilians.I'm originally from Porto Alegre, state capital of Rio grande do sul, homeland of "CHURRASCO" (barbecue)and what I've noticed is that the decoration, meat cut and environment of Brazilian steak houses in the US have nothing to do with ours here. So, if you dear American, wanna try a real Brazilian barbecue, you'd better think twice before going to one of those.

You are right that the Manhattan churrascarias are no good, but there are still some respectable Brazilian restaurants in the boroughts- Casa and Delicia in the West Village, and Malegueta in Long Island City are three that come to mind
