Best Quesadillas - 2009
No! Not bar-food quesadillas, which involve two pasty, pre-packaged flour tortillas squished together over a catalog of dodgy fillings, washed down with Bud Light. We're talkin' about the sublime soul-food quesadillas from the south of Mexico, where the masa is freshly formed into a giant pancake and wrapped around a plenitude of fillings like an oversize taco. The Red Hook ballfields taught us to love the Pueblan quesadilla, and now one of the vendors has relocated to Brooklyn Flea on Saturdays, where, from around 10 in the morning until 6 in the evening, you can enjoy quesadillas filled with beefsteak, pork, cecina (brined beef, our fave), or vegetarian ingredients.
