At first glance, you may think you have the wrong address. Concealed inside the garden apartment of a landmark brownstone, Dossier is one of the finest new additions to the Fort Greene shopping scene with its well-edited selection of clothing, jewelry, books, and other curiosities. Co-owned by friends Skye Parrott (who lives above the shop), Katherine Krause, and Molly McIver, the teeny boutique is named for the biannual fashion and arts journal co-founded by Parrott and Krause. Crammed with a selection of local indie designers you might find featured in their magazine, the shop stocks clothing by labels such as Duskin and Cardigan (for women) and Dana Lee and M. Carter (for men); jewelry by Erica Weiner and Anna Sheffield; and leather shoes custom-made by Keller. High-end vintage pieces are also mixed into the racks. Bookshelves in the back are stuffed with an array of art books from small-run presses. Quirky 'zines and Brooklyn-based literary magazines (such as n+1 and Avery) are scattered around on shelves and windowsills. Walk out with a new dress and a book under your arm, and you'll feel not only more stylish, but brainier as well.

I live down the street and love this store for the amazing selection of jewelry, gifts, plants and pillows. The writer of this article forgot to mention the shop carries an amazing selection of designer vintage like Yves St Laurent. I love that this shop carries Pamela Love's jewelry but the other small designers mentioned are not as impressive.
