Zab Judah

In a city that produced heavyweight legend Mike Tyson, Zab Judah might be the most well-known New York City–bred boxer these days. Raised in Brooklyn as one of nine sons to a father who describes himself as a black Hebrew Israelite, Zab has had an interesting career, winning five titles during his 16-year career and serving for a while as the undisputed welterweight champ. His career record now stands at 41-7, following a loss earlier this year to Amir Khan. Judah also took two suspensions for throwing a stool and shoving a referee in one fight and for a brawl by his cornermen in his title bout loss to Floyd Mayweather Jr.—all of which makes him a true New Yorker. He is now a born-again Christian.
