We just can't tear ourselves away from Buffalo Exchange. The resale chain has numerous shops spread across 15 states (if you're ever in Seattle, that one rocks), and their outposts in the East Village, Williamsburg, and Chelsea are transformative experiences. The broad stores are neatly organized by genre and clothing category, but the plethora of styles and quality (from uppity designers to Forever 21 castoffs) are encouraging to sartorial creativity: Try not to plan entire closetfuls of new outfits as you scan the racks. The name-brand handbags get a bit expensive, if anything, but you'll have no similar problem with the dresses, pants, and jackets—all wearable, mostly new, and almost singularly affordable.
