Spritzenhaus
This gigantic, 6,000-square-foot beer palace might initially feel surreal to New Yorkers. When was the last time you felt like you could run laps inside of a building? Lined with brick walls, a fireplace, and cement floors, Spritzenhaus follows the exact definition of "beer hall": a giant hall with picnic tables and a great selection of brews. On summery days, the walls open up like garage doors, and the joint feels more like an extension of McCarren Park, which you'll find right across the street. The best part, however, might be playing friends in Jenga, which quickly becomes a lot harder with a huge German beer in hand. 33 Nassau Avenue, Brooklyn, 347-987-4632, spritzenhaus33.com (11222)
