Indeed, all day long, desperate pet owners who have found that traditional veterinary medicine hasn't worked bring their furry companions to this shop for a session with its owner, who dispenses advice on organic raw foods and homeopathic remedies. Phil Klein and his wife, Randy, started Whiskers Holistic Pet Care in 1988 (there's also an outpost in Astoria) after their dog's fight with bone cancer led them to research alternative pet diets and holistic treatments. Binders full of thank-you notes from customers prove they must be doing something right.
