This clogged category includes so many different styles?yet, all falling within the narrow compass of wheat noodles in broth?that we nearly despair of choosing a best one. Contenders include Ippudo and Ramen Setagaya in the East Village, Tabata at the ass end of the Port Authority, and Chuko in Prospect Heights. But, as one might do in contemplating a flock of old paramours, we?re driven to return to our first ramen love, Momofuku Noodle Bar. It was here that David Chang cut his eyeteeth as a chef, and launched a ramen craze that has only become more fervent with the years. Return with us now to that bowl of ramen: the dark broth, the shredded fatty pork, the crinkly seaweed, the jiggly egg! And find noodle nirvana. 171 First Avenue, 212-777-7773, momofuku.com/new-york/noodle-bar/ (10003)

Really? Momofuku is so expensive for what should be less than $10. It's street food. Also way too salty. I'm really disappointed in you VV!  Ganso in Brooklyn and Totto Ramen are MUCH better!
