Best Outdoor Bar - 2013
Outdoor space comes at a premium in New York City, which explains the number of restaurants calling 3-by-3-foot patches of cement "patios." Some restaurateurs, though, were lucky enough to secure spacious roof decks or backyards with their leases, and they built out luxurious gardens worth lingering in for hours. Best of all is the rooftop bar at Williamsburg's Berry Park, a 3,000-square-foot patio where you can take in the glory of the Manhattan skyline while you sip German beers and eat bratwurst. What really makes this open-air sanctuary rise above the rest, though, is the fact that you can drink here in the cold months, too—a glass enclosure insulates the deck from the elements without blocking that excellent view.
