10 Years After 9/11, NY Still Doesn't Have Secure Driving Licenses
After the horror of 9/11, it was discovered that between the terrorists, they had 33 fraudulently obtained valid driver's licenses. The terrorists used fraudulent documents and information to gain valid licenses, which led to the call to introduce secure IDs.
That resulted in the formation of the Coalition for a Secure Driver's License (CSDL), which educates state policy makers about introducing secure driving licenses.
Some states have done so, but not New York!
The CSDL reports that 10 years after the attack, NY remains without a secure driver's license, and as a result it's open to the same loopholes that allowed the terrorists to obtain their IDs a decade ago.
Put on the brakes, NY State!
