A Farewell Bash

The Left Coast plans an October 9 bon-friggin'-voyage gala for you-know-who

While we're getting ready to welcome those fine, fine Republicans to our unfair city, a bunch of people in San Francisco are already planning a George Bush Going Away Party.

The brainstorm of Lisa Geduldig and others, the gala is scheduled for 8 p.m. on October 9 at the Herbst Theatre in San Francisco. The whole Bush family will be there—well, their doppelgängers, at least, played by various drag queens and members of the San Francisco Mime Troupe. Dick Cheney will be channeled by Ed Holmes, who leads the annual Saint Stupid's Day Parade (sponsored by the First Church of the Last Laugh) through SF's financial district. Dubya will be eructated by Amos Glick.

Among those scheduled to perform for this Bush clan is Greg Proops, of the original British cast of Whose Line Is It Anyway?
