Absentee Ballot Lawsuit in Ohio
A woman named Sarah White is suing Ohio Secretary of State Kenneth Blackwell and the Lucas County Election Board in Federal Court in Toledo on behalf of herself and others who say they asked for absentee ballots before the October 30 deadline but did not receive them. Blackwell has ordered that they will not be allowed to cast provisional ballots. Over half a million people requested absentee ballots in Ohio; it is not known how many the lawsuit covers. The suit is backed by San Francisco's Lawyer's Committee for Civil Rights.
