Andy Warhol's Thoughts On Sex
"I have found that it's too much work.
"But if you have the time for it, and if you need that exercise -- then you should do it.
"Along with having sex, being sexed is also hard work ...
"The people who think they're working the hardest are the men who are trying to be women.
"They do double-time.
"They do all the double things: they think about shaving and not shaving, of primping and not primping, of buying men's clothes and women's clothes.
"I guess it's interesting to try be another sex, but it can be exciting to just be your own sex."
From The Philosophy of Andy Warhol (From A to B and Back Again), 1975
What adorable Andy seems to have left out was:
A) That genderplay is richly worth all the effort! Nothing fabulous comes easy, you know.
B) And that if you're as rich as he was, sex isn't hard work at all!
