Aretha in Concert With Condi Rice!
You knew this was coming!
The former Secretary of Defense with the longtime Queen of Soul. Together in concert!
In a highly unusual July 27 event at the Mann Center for the Performing Arts in Philadelphia, Aretha Franklin will be joined by Condoleeza Rice, who will play piano on "Say a Little Prayer" and "Natural Woman."
Condi will also apparently do a 20-minute set with a big orchestra (no doubt in between giving speeches defending the war in Iraq), and Aretha will satisfy her fans with hits by Handel, Mozart, and Burt Bacharach.
Says the big-lunged singer, "Ms. Rice is a consummate classical pianist and since I sing the arias, I thought that we could do something, a bipartisan effort for our favorite charities."
I'm not the least bit surprised. Whenever Aretha hears the word "Rice," she always yelps, "Give me some!"
