Ben Affleck Is Back On Top
Ben Affleck was a Hollywood golden boy who got sucked into some crappy pictures as well as a destructively over-publicized relationship before settling into a simpler life and emerging as a fine director with films like Gone Baby Gone and The Town.
And now he's getting Oscar buzz all over again.
Argo is the Affleck film (he directed and costars) that's set when "the Iranian revolution reaches a boiling point," and its mix of harrowing drama and farcical humor drew positive reactions at the Telluride Film Festival.
I'm rooting for Ben, and feel he could very well be listed alongside Bill Murray (as FDR in Hyde Park on Hudson), Daniel Day-Lewis (in Lincoln), and Joaquin Phoenix (in the Scientology riff The Master) for Best Actor honors at the end of the year.
And when you look at the film's '70s clothes, you realize Ben must have done some hunting at Good Will!
