Connie Francis Called Me! About 'Slut Walks'!

The legendary singer of "Who's Sorry Now?" and "Where the Boys Are" called me last night to thank me for the blogs I'd just done about her.

And I wasn't home!

But I'll save the message forever, especially since Connie segued from expressing gratitude (and saying I can call her anytime) to giving her very strong opinions on the "Slut Walks" that are grabbing headlines lately.

I'll quote from Connie's Tweets since they essentially say the same thing she relayed in my message:

Upcoming Events

"I'm dismayed by the 'Slut walks' that are scheduled in many cities.

"These misguided organizers r saying we women have the right to dress like streetwalkers, get drunk, and swear, and not be raped.

"That would hold true if we lived in a perfect word.

"Should any person, man or woman, expect to be free from attack if he went into the wrong environment & waved around a roll of bills?

"It's a very vicious world out there. Your 'walks' are leading women in a dangerous and unrealistic direction."

Connie is not just speaking out of turn. She was raped in 1974.
