Flatiron Flatbread Fails
We noticed that Daniele's Piadina on West 22nd Street has, to borrow a phrase from our friends at Eater, been "shuttered." The Italian takeout spot scored a failing grade of 54 on their last inspection, but it was still an improvement over the one a few weeks before that, which got 83 points. The details are less-than-exciting; think "Canned food product observed severely dented" rather than "cutting board constructed entirely out of rat poop." The owners posted a sign, right next to the one from the DOH, that says they closed because their permit expired. This is one of the citations on the health inspection as well.
