Flawless Sabrina Gets a Tribute
Venerable drag star Flawless Sabrina will be honored at the Leslie/Lohman Museum of Gay and Lesbian Art on the 15th, starting with a 5:30 p.m. screening of The Queen -- the pioneering 1968 drag-beauty-pageant documentary in which Sabrina emceed the contest -- and moving on to various readings and other salutations.
Flawless will read from her soon-to-be-published book, accompanied by writers and performers including Brandon Olson, Inbred Hybrid Collective, and Rami Shamir.
Items will be made available to the audience, with 10 percent of the profits being donated to the museum.
I asked Sabrina for a quote about the whole head-spinning occasion, and here's what she came up with:
"Super privilege, happy as an old fart clam."
Succinct and flawless.
