Glee's Cory Monteith Admits He Stole
"I'm lucky to be alive," says Cory Monteith in this Sunday's Parade.
He's not exaggerating. Here's what the magazine uncovered about Cory's non-gleeful past:
His parents divorced when he was seven.
At 13, Cory was skipping school to get drunk and smoke pot. He went to 12 different schools and now admits, "I burned a lot of bridges. I was out of control."
What drugs did he do? "Anything and everything," he tells Parade, "as much as possible."
Afraid he'd die, Cory's mother and friends staged an intervention when he was 19.
He went to rehab, but came out and started drugging again.
And then, the big event:
"I stole a significant amount of money from a family member," Cory reveals.
"I knew I was going to get caught, but I was so desperate I didn't care. It was a cry for help.
"I was confronted and I said, 'Yeah, it was me.' It was the first honorable, truthful thing that had come out of my mouth in years."
Check out Parade to see the rest of the details on how he got back on his feet.
And be grateful he's here to steal your heart every week!
