By 1:25, the first marchers reached Union Square, joining others gathered there. Most people, however, are still in assembly areas and haven't even begun to walk.
In contrast to the scene along Seventh Avenue, there are few cops along Fifth Avenue, and many protesters see an open path to head up to Central Park, so they're heading down to the subways.
It could be that the sun and heat have dampened people's enthusiasm, but so far the protest looks extremely low-key.
