"I Want Ice Cream!"
That's what a three-year-old boy was exclaiming to his mother at a food place the other day, and he seemed sincere about it, not just making demands to get attention.
I was at the next table and felt his pain, especially as his mother kept saying, "No!"
Eventually, mama simply wheeled him out of the joint without ordering anything, rather than have to deal with the kid's wanton needs.
He was crying hysterically by that point, and I was so upset by the whole scenario that I could barely down my meatloaf and two sides, though somehow I managed.
Now call me crazy, but if I was a parent of the kid, I would have simply gotten him some freakin' ice cream!
Is that why gay people are routinely denied family rights in our state?
