Laughing Your Ass Off
This kills me. My comments on Propeller Shakespeare's Twelfth Night and Taming of the Shrew at BAM won't appear into the Voice until next week, but I would like to offer some thoughts, and encourage ticket buyers not to hesitate, especially where Shrew is concerned.
As is well-known, while Aristotle's essay on tragedy survives, his one on comedy is lost. So in Western literary criticism, it's a great mystery what precisely comedy entails. But England's Propeller Shakespeare seems to have distilled a few rules.
1. Men in dresses are funny. 2. Men in assless chaps are much, much funnier.
