Leona Helmsley Dances From The Grave in New Musical
I was never sure whether to say "Leona Helmsley and her bitch" or "Leona's dog and HER bitch." Either way, both bitches are coming to the stage via the great beyond in a New York Musical Theatre Festival dance production called Wild About Harry. Yes, not only did the pampered pooch of Harry Helmsley's crazed widow inherit 12 million smackers in dog biscuits, she also gets to be the subject of this dance piece—"a completely fresh look at Leona Helmsley, one of NYC's most colorful characters, the one man who loved her, the many others who did not, and her dog." So step right up and see how the Queen of Mean and her cute little pile of Trouble have managed to turn mental illness into high art! At Manhattan Movement & Arts Center, 248 West 60th Street, on September 19, 20, 21, and 28. www.nymf.org
