Need Gifts For That Special Someone (A Music Nerd)?

And you thought you were alone! Please. Right now there are exactly five other people who haven't picked out presents for their buds and beaus, and all of them look and act just like you (you were all "born" in the same factory). Don't worry, I got you covered. Here are some gift ideas:

  • The Game's Hurricane Shoe. Designed by automotive specialists 310 Motoring, The Game's Hurricanes feature a map of the rapper's hometown Compton on the sole, and are set to hit shelves the day after Christmas. An unfortunate name given recent events, the Hurricanes still will probably fare better than previous rap-related clothing products, such as Eminem's Scarf bin Laden, and Young Buck's special line of running shorts called, simply, AIDS.
  • The Notorious B.I.G.: Duets. Billed as the late rapper's final chapter, Duets features guestdrops from Eminem, Game, Jay-Z, Nas, and Tupac--but there are some special edition runs too. One includes a String Quartet Tribute to Biggie, with Notorious's verses replaced by a dude playing cello; another is a concert DVD of jazz covers performed by The Notorious B.I.G. B.A.N.D..
  • Johnny Cash: The Legend Box Set. As you may or may not know, there are several Cash boxes floating around, so be sure to order the right one. For instance, The Legend is a 4-CD box set that primarily covers his Columbia years; The Real Legend, meanwhile, is a cardboard box stuffed with Cash's exhumed body.
  • Bush: The Best of '94 - '99. The grunge band's compilation was curated by Bush frontman and Gwen Stefani-marrying Gavin Rossdale. Included is a bonus track of Stefani's doctor telling Rossdale he is the father of Stefani's baby, and a bonus DVD with exclusive in utero footage of Stefani and Rossdale's baby writing out the bass tab for "Everything Zen."
  • Tickets to see Tony Yayo: The Musical. Since his debut album Predicate of a Convicted Felon tanked hard, Yayo's taken it to off-Broadway, with a bit of a twist. By no means a direct remake of Felon, the musical, called PrediCATS of a Convicted Feline, is actually just a regular performance of CATS, in which Yayo stars as the Magical Mister Mistoffelees and sells hot dogs at intermission.
