Meet Mary Jo CamellToe, New York's Best Bartender
In this week's "Best of NYC" issue, I zoom in on a lady who not only serves fierce drinks (at Williamsburg hostpots Sugarland and Metropolitan), but makes that libationary practice into an art form.
Mary Jo is primarily a performance artist, so she doesn't just stand behind the bar in drab duds and a sour expression.
She dresses up in wigs and glitter, considering herself a female-to-female queer, though some of the gay guys in attendance think she's a drag queen.
Not as much as they'd be if they found out she's a woman.
Especially since some of them even hit on her!
Read my interview with Mary Jo for some insight into what makes this Glammy winning tender-bender the go-to gal for shots and wisdoms.
And leave a tip!
