'No Dogs or Indians Allowed'
The LA Times reports that Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle's opponent, Republican Rep. John Thune of South Dakota, has distributed a flyer with a picture of prairie dogs and the slogan "The dogs are coming out to vote for Tom Daschle." In the same vein, early this Election Day morning, a judge partially granted Daschle's request, ordering that poll workers employed by his opponent cannot follow Indian voters from the polling places and write down their license plates. His order only applies to Charles Mix County, where this behavior was observed, not statewide as Daschle had requested.
